COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized swimming team is set for its 46th season in 2022. The Buckeyes return to a full season of competition after closing the 2021 campaign with a second-place finish at the U.S. Collegiate National Championships.
Ohio State opens the season with two home competitions, starting with the Zero Waste Invitational on Jan. 15 at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. On Feb. 5, the team will host the Jessica Beck Memorial Competition.
Ohio State hits the road for four competitions this season, beginning at the University of Richmond on Feb. 12 followed by William & Mary on Feb. 13. The team splits the weekend of Feb. 18 and 19 as the Scarlet squad takes on the University of Arizona Collegiate Open while the Gray squad competes at the Wheaton College Invitational on Feb. 19.
The North Regional Championships will be held March 5 with the location still to be determined. The Buckeyes close the 2022 campaign by hosting the U.S. Collegiate National Championships.
The Buckeyes’ 2022 roster returns 2021 U.S. Collegiate All-Americans Camryn Carrasco, Rose Homoelle, Paige Hopper, Laila Huric and Rachel Jager. In addition to the returners, Ohio State welcomes freshmen Emily Armstrong, Marian Catahan, Hannah Heffernan and Ruby Remati.
Head coach Holly Vargo-Brown enters her 10th season at the helm of the Buckeyes. Associate head coach Suzanna Hyatt also begins her 10th season on the Ohio State staff and fourth in her current role.
