Columbus, Ohio – Ohio State women’s volleyball head coach Geoff Carlston announced the addition of sophomore outside hitter Mari Hole (Oslo, Norway) to his roster. A transfer from UCLA, Hole played two years with the Bruins.

She played in 29 matches in 2009 with 11 starts and was named to the All-Pacific-10 Conference Freshman honorable mention team, Hole averaged 2.06 kills and 1.36 digs per set as a freshman. A 2010 Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention selection, she averaged 2.07 kills and 1.07 digs per set playing in 17 matches with three starts.

“We are so excited to have Mari join our family,” Carlston said. “She brings with her a wealth of international experience and maturity that will be an asset to our young group. It’s been fun having her around already. She adds depth to our OH position and you can already tell she fits in perfectly with our team.”

Hole attended Berg High School in Oslo, Norway, which did not have high school sports. She played for the Koll club, which won the national and league championship in each of her last three years. She also played on the beach with the junior national team, earning a bronze medal at the 2009 Australian Youth Olympic Festival.
