Buckeyes Add Four to 2021 Roster

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State softball program has added four walk-ons for the 2021 season. The addition of Hannah Bryan, McKenzie Bump, Kirsten Eppele and Lindsey Potter brings the total of newcomers to eight.

Hannah Bryan | C | Columbus, Ohio | Bishop Ready High School

Named first team All-CCL and All-District three times…Was an All-Metro selection as a sophomore and junior…Selected as an All-Ohio performer twice…Helped the Silver Knights to the CCL Championship title as a sophomore and junior…Won the District Championship as a freshman…Set the Ohio state record for RBI in an inning (6) during her sophomore year…Ranked first in career batting average (.449) and home runs (19) as a junior…Received the 2019 CDSCA Scholar-Athlete Award…Most recently played club ball for Ohio Lasers Green and won the 2016 ASA/USA 14U National Championship with teammate McKenzie Bump…Also spent four years with the Beverly Bandits.

McKenzie Bump | UTL | Mount Gilead, Ohio | Mount Gilead High School

Received All-KMAC and All-District laurels every year…Three-time All-Ohio honoree…Voted team captain and MVP three times…Batted at least .750 every season…Recorded a career-high .792 batting average and 57 hits as a sophomore…Tallied 57 stolen bases during her junior season…For her career, she had a .765 batting average, 163 hits, 114 runs scored and 120 stolen bases…While with the Ohio Lasers Green, she joined Hannah Bryan in winning the 2016 ASA/USA 14U National Championship…Plays travel ball for the Ohio Stingrays.

Kirsten Eppele | UTL | Strongsville, Ohio | Strongsville High School

Named 2019 Cuyahoga County Player of the Year and Greater Cleveland Sports Commission Female High School Athlete of the Year…Three-time first team All-GCC selection…Received first team All-District, All-Ohio and All-County honors as a junior…Set seven school records during her junior season…Two-time scholar-athlete…Plays club ball for Ohio Wolfpack…Also earned first team All-GCC recognition and set the school record for aces per set as a member of the volleyball team.

Lindsey Potter | OF | Plain City, Ohio | Jonathan Adler High School

Helped lead the Pioneers to a state championship in 2019…Garnered first team All-CBC laurels as a sophomore and junior…Picked up All-Ohio and All-District honors in 2018…Voted Division II Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year during her sophomore campaign…Notched third team All-District recognition as a junior…Played travel ball for Team Ohio…Currently with the Ohio Stingrays.
