Madison, Wisc. – The Ohio State women’s soccer team defeated league-leading Wisconsin 1-0 at the McClimon Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon, ending the Badgers’ nine-game Big Ten home win streak.

In the 48th minute, Tiffany Cameron, with her fifth goal of the season, finished off a corner kick with a shot that ricocheted off the right post for the only score of the match. Assists on the play were from Kristen Niederhaus and Liz Sullivan. Cameron has scored goals in three consecutive matches.

The Badgers came closest to scoring in the 59th minute, when OSU keeper Katie Baumgardner deflected a driving header from Laurie Nosbusch off a cross, and again in the 69th minute, when a Nosbusch shot sailed high over the net, and the 85th minute, when a Meghan Flannery shot was high.

Ohio State outshot Wisconsin 13-9 and led 5-4 in corner kicks.

During the scoreless first half, the Buckeyes held a decisive 7-2 lead in shots and were ahead 4-3 in corner kicks.

Ohio State, now 8-4-1 and 3-1-1 in the Big Ten, continues conference road play next weekend with a 1 p.m. match Sunday at Purdue.
