COLUMBUS, Ohio — The No. 11 Ohio State men’s lacrosse team will begin its 2016 season Saturday with a Scarlet vs. Gray scrimmage at 12:30 p.m. inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Admission is FREE. Space is limited inside WHAC and fans are encouraged to arrive early to guarantee a spot. Parking around WHAC is $5 for fans attending the scrimmage. 

(NOTE: Ohio State had been scheduled to scrimmage Navy Saturday, but the winter storm expected to hit the east coast this weekend has altered the travel plans for the Midshipmen.)

Following the Scarlet vs. Gray scrimmage, a Winter Lacrosse Festival is scheduled from 2-3 p.m. The FREE event includes a meet and greet with members of the Ohio State men’s and women’s lacrosse programs. There will be skill instruction with the Buckeyes, Ohio State lacrosse gear available for fans to try on, an inflatable bounce house and raffle items. 

The day kicks off with a coaches clinic open to youth, middle and high school and college lacrosse coaches. Discussion will revolve around skill and developmental drills for all positions, with an additional focus surrounding weekly routines and practice structuring. Registration and information on the clinic, which runs from 8-11 a.m. in the Fawcett Center, is available online: (under men’s lacrosse). The clinic is $20 per participant and includes coffee, lunch and admission to the scrimmage vs. Navy. Walk-up participants are welcome, but lunch will not be provided.

In the preseason polls, the 2016 Buckeyes are No 11 in the USILA rankings ad No. 13 in the Lacrosse Magazine and Face-Off Yearbook preseason polls.

Looking Ahead
Ohio State will close its preseason with a scrimmage vs. The Hill Academy at noon Jan. 30 inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Admission is free.

The Buckeyes’ 2016 schedule includes matchups vs. all four 2015 NCAA Final Four teams and features nine home games, including a game vs. 2015 NCAA semifinalist and preseason No. 1 ranked Notre Dame and three Big Ten contests.

Ohio State opens the regular season Feb. 6 at Furman and begins its home slate Feb. 13 vs. Detroit inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

Single game tickets can be purchased online at prior to game day. The Buckeyes’ first two home games, vs. Detroit Feb. 13 and UMBC Feb. 27, are scheduled to be played inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Seating is limited and games are expected to sell out before prior to game day; fans are encouraged to prepurchase tickets to guarantee a spot.

The March 26 game vs. Notre Dame in Ohio Stadium is part of the #Brutus50 Bobblehead promotion. A ticket ($20) includes both a ticket to the game and a Brutus Bobblehead that is available only to fans who prepurchase a ticket and pick up the bobblehead at that game. To purchase, click HERE.

Group tickets are also on sale now. For groups of 10 or more, tickets are available for $4 each when purchased prior to game day. Tickets for the Showdown in the Shoe doubleheader with the Buckeye football spring game are $5 each and $4.50 each for groups of 50 or more, with all tickets general admission.
