COLUMBUS, Ohio Chase Buchanan and Blaz Rola of the Ohio State men’s tennis team remained perfect in doubles main draw competition at the 2011 D’Novo/ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. The Ohio State tandem advanced to the tournament final after defeating Georgia’s Sadio Doumbia and Ignacio Taboada 6-2, 6-4, for their fourth-consecutive win. The semifinals as well as the final consist of a best of three sets scoring model.

With the victory, Buchanan and Rola will take the court at X a.m. CT Sunday against Georgia Tech’s Kevin King and Juan Spir with the hope of leaving Tulsa as doubles champions. The Scarlet and Gray duo are the third-ranked team in the draw, while the pair of Yellow Jackets are the top-seeded team. Thus far in their careers, Buchanan, a senior, and Rola, a sophomore, have amassed a 20-7 overall record when partners. In tournament play (fall season), they are 11-3.

Devin McCarthy and Ille Van Engelen, who lost to King and Spir in the first round of doubles main draw action, have reeled off three consecutive wins in the consolation bracket, including an 8-4 win over Mississippi State’s Louis Cant and Malte Stropp Saturday to reach the consolation final. McCarthy and Van Engelen will face the tandem of Nick Andrews and Christoffer Konigsfeldt of California at 10 a.m. CT Sunday in the final.
