Boulais Named B1G Athlete of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Graduate student Isabelle Boulais of the No. 7 Ohio State women’s tennis team has been selected the Big Ten Athlete of the Week after posting three wins in Big Ten play last weekend. It is the third league weekly honor of her career.

Boulais, from Mississauga, Ontario, posted a singles win and two doubles victories as the Buckeyes were 2-0 in Big Ten play. Friday against No. 16 Wisconsin, she and Shelly Bereznyak clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court two. In singles, her three-set victory on court three against Alina Mukhortova (6-0, 1-6, 6-3), clinched Ohio State’s team win vs. the Badgers. Against Minnesota Sunday, Boulais paired with Bereznyak to clinch the doubles point with a 6-2 victory on court two. She was up a set in her singles match on court two when play was suspended with the match clinched.

The Buckeyes, 10-5 on the year and 3-0 in B1G play, close out a three-match homestand at 3 p.m. Friday when they host Purdue. Admission and parking are free. The match is scheduled to be played outside at the Auer Tennis Center but will be moved inside the Ty Tucker Tennis Center in the event of inclement weather. The squad will wrap up the weekend with a match at Northwestern at 3:30 p.m. ET in Evanston, Ill.
