Borges, Jasinski Selected for USILA North/South Game

COLUMBUS – Seniors Jack Jasinski and Matt Borges of the Ohio State men’s lacrosse team will represent the Buckeyes in the 78th United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North-South Senior All-Star Game, the USILA has announced.

The games – which feature more than 100 of the nation’s top senior men’s college players – is slated for Friday, May 24 at Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. The Division III game kicks things off at 5:00 pm, followed by the Div. I/II contest at 7:30 pm. Admission to both games is free of charge and the games will be streamed live on Lax Sports Network.

Jasinski and Borges are the first Buckeyes to compete in the game since Kevin Buchanan and Ricky Pages in 2008. They will be the 30th and 31st Ohio State representatives in program history.

A native of Birmingham, Ala., Jasinski had the most productive statistical season of his career in 2019, finishing with 32 point on 21 goals and 11 assists. He played in and started all 12 games and had a least one point in 10 contests. Against Boston University of Feb. 9, he scored a career-high five goals – one of six multi-goal games on the season. A veteran of 61 career games, he had 97 points on 61 goals and 36 assists while helping the Scarlet and Gray with 39 games over those four years. Jasinski is also an OSU Scholar-Athlete who is majoring in exercise science education.

Borges, a team captain, Senior CLASS Award candidate and Ohio State graduate who earned his degree in finance this past May, started 48 consecutive games at close defense over the past three seasons. He led the 2019 Buckeyes with 16 caused turnovers and averaged 1.33 per game, the highest since Keenan Ochwat in 2012. His play helped the Scarlet and Gray hold four opponents to 10 goals or less this past season. Borges played in all 63 games between 2016 and 2019 with 109 ground balls and 38 caused turnovers.
