The Buckeyes returned from East Lansing 3-3 on the year, posting a third-consecutive series split. The team lost to Michigan State, 3-0, Thursday before a 5-2 victory Friday.
Ohio State returns to action with two home games against Alaska this week. The teams will meet at 7:05 p.m. Thursday and Friday in Value City Arena. Thursday night includes a schedule poster giveaway. Friday is a Buckeye Spooktacular. There will be Halloween festivities throughout the game and children and students are encouraged to wear their costumes to the game. There will be trick or treating on concourse, with special treats for children dressed in costume. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Following the game, there will be a Skate with the Buckeyes for fans who bring their own skates. Skates will not be available to rent at the arena.
Junior defenseman Devon Krogh checked in after the trip … Well, it was not the greatest, but not the worst weekend. We were only able to finish off with a split which is never the goal going into the weekend.
On Thursday we came out flat. Cal (Heeter) really played well and kept us in the game giving us a chance to win. Unfortunately it was not enough; we couldn’t get a W and it was quite a damper mood around the locker room after the game. We had a quick cool down and went back to the hotel for dinner. We had fajitas, which was a nice change from the usual pasta and chicken. After dinner all the guys split off to their rooms to get some rest and prepare for Friday night’s game … I had the pleasure of listening to Al McLean snore all night!
We got up on Friday and had breakfast. Post breakfast we went for a walk and did some partner stretches with out strength coach Brian.
Everyone was pretty amped going into Friday night’s game. We came out strong and started playing Buckeye hockey. Michigan State got the first goal but the guys were npt deterred. We went into the third period with a 2-2 tie game. All the guys knew what had to be done for a win and we came out flying in the third scoring three unanswered goals.
The bus ride home was a happy one. We watched a few movies and rolled into Columbus around 2 o’clock.
Hope to see everyone out at our games this week. Thanks for all the support!
