COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Big Ten completed worked on the 2006 men’s basketball schedule Wednesday. The non-conference portion of the schedule will be distributed at a later date. Ohio State opens conference play Jan. 5 against Penn State in Columbus.

The Buckeyes will play Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota just once in 2006 prior to the annual league tournament March 9-12 in Indianapolis.

Ohio State faces Illinois and Minnesota in Columbus and will travel to Bloomington and Iowa City to face the Hoosiers and Hawkeyes, respectively.

Four league games will be televised nationally by CBS Sports with three of those games contested in Value City Arena. The road game at Indiana Jan. 8 along with home games vs. Michigan State (Jan. 15), Illinois (Feb. 12) and Michigan (Feb 25) will be on the CBS airwaves.

ESPN will televise Ohio State’s home game vs. Wisconsin Jan. 18 and the road game at Michigan Feb. 9.
