CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – After fifth-seeded Ohio State beat fourth-seeded Michigan 7-3 in 13 innings in the opening game of the Big Ten tournament Wednesday at Illinois Field, the Buckeyes had to wait to see who their opponent would be. In the second game, No. 6 seed Minnesota beat No. 3 seed Iowa 14-7. Waiting in the wings were top-seeded Illinois and second-seeded Purdue, who had a bye in the first round of the tournament.
The Buckeyes will play Purdue Thursday at 4:35 p.m., EDT since Ohio State is the higher seed among the two winners from the first round. Minnesota and Illinois will play at Thursday at 8:05 p.m. Iowa and Michigan will play an elimination game Thursday at 1:05 p.m.
