COLUMBUS, Ohio – Following its first practice of the 2017 season on Thursday, Ohio State players and coaches met with the media inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Included among those was senior quarterback J.T. Barrett and offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson.
Barrett on the team’s opening practice of 2017
“It was an extension of the summer. Guys were going hard and working on fundamentals. It’s time for football and I think everybody had that same vibe.”
Barrett on his mindset headed into his final training camp
“I’m excited. I set my alarm for 5 a.m. and I was here [at the facility] by 5:15, so it was up and at `em early. I’m enjoying it. It’s my last [camp] and I’m trying to get better everyday.”
Wilson on his goals for the Buckeyes’ offense
“We want to be a great running team that sets up the pass and gets the ball outside and down the field. We have to take care of the ball and take care of the quarterback. That’s never changed in anything I’ve tried to do.”
