COLUMBUS, Ohio – Tim Baldwin, a redshirt freshman for Ohio State men’s volleyball, earned his first starting nod vs. USC on Jan. 24, came back and paced the team in nearly every statistical category against UCLA two days later and then received recognition from the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) two days after that. The memorable week was highlighted by Baldwin’s selection as MIVA Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (Jan. 28).

Baldwin becomes the third different Buckeyes to earn the league accolade through the first four weeks of the 2020 season. He dug 14 balls over the weekend (2.33 per set) and added four blocks. Baldwin came alive when facing the sixth-ranked Bruins, leading the squad with 12 kills, nine digs and three blocks.
