Following her reign in Columbus, Liberty Brutus moved east and has taken up residence in New York City in the apartment of true Buckeye fans. The life-size fiberglass statue, standing more than 6-foot-2-inches and weighing 150 pounds, was part of Brutus On Parade, an event organized to help raise funds for the renovation of the William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library. The 36 Brutus statues were displayed at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on the Ohio State campus in late 2008. Following the Parade, statues that were not purchased by their sponsors were adopted at a live auction, with the proceeds going to support the library renovation.
