PEORIA, Ariz. – The Ohio State women’s golf team finished the first day at the Westbrook Invitational in a tie for ninth in the 16-team field at Westbrook Village Golf Course. The competition consisted of two rounds of 18 holes. The Buckeyes shot a 1-over-par 289 in the first round and a 2-under 286 to wrap up the day. Ohio State ranked second overall in comparison to other Big Ten teams in the tournament, led only by Nebraska in seventh place.
Aneka Seumanutafa is currently sitting in a tie for sixth overall in the field of 90 golfers. The sophomore carded a 2-under 70 for the morning round and a 4-under 68 with eight birdies for the second half of the day.
The Buckeyes have tallied 33 birdies through two rounds, fourth-most in the field. Seumanutafa finished the day 4-under in par-5 scoring and 1-under in par-3 scoring to tie for fourth. The sophomore tallied 13 birdies to tie for third-most in the field.
