COLUMBUS, Ohio – Aneka Seumanutafa, a freshman on the Ohio State women’s golf team, has been named Big Ten Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday. The Emmitsburg, Md., native placed eighth at the Lady Gator Invitational this past weekend in Gainesville, Fla.
Seumanutafa, who also was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week Feb. 27, earns the Buckeyes’ third Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor this season after Jaclyn Lee picked up the honor Sept. 19.
Seumanutafa opened the tournament with a 5-over 75 before carding a bogey-free career-low 6-under 64 in the second round. The freshman then closed with a 2-over 72 to finish the tournament at 1-over. Seumanutafa leads the Buckeyes with a 70.8 scoring average, including four rounds in the 60’s, while notching a pair of Top 10 finishes.
The Buckeyes travel to the Dominican Republic for the Tar Heel Classic Friday and Saturday at the Casa de Campo Teeth of the Dog Course.
