COLUMBUS, Ohio – Mackenzie Allessie added another accolade to the list of 2019 season honors. The freshman was named to the 2019 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-American list with third team distinction. This season, Allessie was also named to the Big Ten Preseason Watch List, Big Ten All-Tournament Team, NFHCA First Team All-Region and First Team All-Big Ten. Allessie is the first Buckeye to be named to the NFHCA All-American team since Peanut Johnson in 2015. Johnson was also named to the third team.
Allessie had an undeniably elite season her first year with the Buckeyes. After playing with the U.S. National Team in the 2019 Pan American games, she arrived on campus and hit the ground running. Allessie appeared in all 18 games for the Buckeyes this season, finding a way to make an impact in each contest. The Pennsylvania native recorded 37 points from 16 goals and five assists for the scarlet and gray, making her the team leader in season goals and points. She surpassed the 2018 leader in season points by ten.
