WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – With platform competition complete at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center, all eight divers from Ohio State entered in the meet advance to the 2019 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in Austin, Texas over the next two weeks.
On the women’s side, junior Lara Tarvit finished fifth with a score of 527.20 and will compete on both 1-Meter and Platform. Junior Lexie Barker took eighth, earning her automatic qualification to the championship meet with a score of 507.80. By finishing in the Top-12 on 3-Meter as well, Barker is also eligible to compete on that board in Austin.
With the qualification, Tarvit will appear on the Platform for the third straight year. Barker qualifies for the first NCAA Championships of her career. In addition to Tarvit and Barker, sophomore Genevieve Angerame will compete on 3-Meter for the women’s team.
All five from the men’s squad finished in the Top 12, adding Platform to their list of events for the NCAA Championships. Sophomore Jacob Siler was third overall, posting a score of 722.30, and senior Christo Law followed in fourth with a mark of 720.15. Freshman Jacob Fielding took sixth with a score of 698.05, senior Aaron Daniels-Freeman was ninth (660.80) and sophomore Joey Canova was 11th (642.15).
Both Siler and Law qualified for competition on all three boards at the NCAA Championships. Fielding and Canova will compete on both Platform and 3-Meter, while Daniels-Freeman is set for both 1-Meter and Platform.
