COLUMBUS, Ohio – With the ebb and flow of the lead up to Ohio State’s victory in the Sugar Bowl and the rise of the men’s basketball team to a No. 2 ranking in the country, the Facebook fervor among Buckeye Nation spiked in December.
Facebook.com/Buckeyes, the official social media site of the Ohio State Athletics Department, experienced a record-setting December as the page added more than 80,000 “likes” during the year’s final month.

Currently, Ohio State ranks as the No. 1 official collegiate following on Facebook. In a poll released Dec. 13 by www.SoonerSports.com, Ohio State’s then-total of 650,851 fans led No. 2 Texas and its following of 384,677.
