The Buckeyes’ 2020 schedule features nine home games, starting on Feb. 4 vs. Detroit Mercy at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Ohio State will also take on UMass (Feb. 15), a perennial top-25 team, Ivy League power Cornell (March 1), Hofstra (March 7), NCAA Tournament participant Notre Dame (March 10) and Denver (March 15) all prior to Big Ten play starting. The Buckeyes host three Big Ten games this season: vs. Penn State (April 4 or 5), Johns Hopkins (April 18 or 19) and Michigan (April 25 or 26).
In all, Ohio State’s 2020 opponents had a combined record of 116-85 a year ago (.577) and an average RPI of 22.2. Five opponents finished with a final RPI in the top 15 and four of them played in the NCAA Tournament. Nine of the Buckeyes’ 13 opponents had a .500 or better record in 2019.
Under head coach Nick Myers and staff, the Buckeyes return nine of their top 10 scorers and three All-Americans: face-off specialist Justin Inacio, the 2019 Big Ten Specialist of the Year, attackman Tre Lelclaire (34G, 3A, 37 points) and midfielder Ryan Terefenko (4G, 4A, eight points, 36 ground balls).
