COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Pistol team recently announced their captains for the 2018-2019 season.
Zachary Dahmen, Anthony McCollum, and Emily Rust were selected by the coaching staff as well as their teammates to take on the role as this year’s captains.
Dahmen will take on his leadership role as captain by handling team events, including during travel, as well as travel organization such as outfit and team reminders. This past season, Dahmen earned a spot on the All-American Second Team for both Standard and Air Pistol as well as becoming a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Academic All-Big Ten, and OSU Scholar-Athlete. Dahmen is a senior from North Royalton, Ohio and is majoring in finance.
McCollum’s leadership role will consist of handling freshman support as well as training (strength and conditioning) support. In 2017-18, McCollum was crowned the Standard Pistol National Champion and earned a spot on the All-American First Team for both Air and Standard Pistol with Second Team accolades earned for Free Pistol. He also excelled academically as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Academic All-Big Ten, OSU Scholar-Athlete and Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree. McCollum is a senior from Purdin, Mo. and is majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in coaching.
Rust will lead by being in charge of stats and results, and social media updates. Last season, Rust was an All-American Second Team member in Sport Pistol as well as becoming a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Academic All-Big Ten, and OSU Scholar-Athlete. Emily is senior from Sagamore Hills, Ohio and is double majoring in sports industry and marketing.
The 2018-2019 pistol captains, along with their teammates, open their season this Friday, September 28th, at Coast Guard.
