Coaches, Parents and Wrestlers,
Ohio State Wrestling is pleased to announce that our Spring Clinics will take place from April 15 – May 18, 2010. Off-season training is a common denominator of all great wrestlers’ success. As wrestlers plan for success in their upcoming seasons, they will benefit greatly from the instruction our staff can provide this spring.

OSU Wrestling Clinic – We will meet in the Ohio State wrestling room two times per week and will focus on technique, conditioning, mental preparation, leadership skills and nutrition. Every session will be run by a member of the Ohio State Coaching staff and assisted by several current team members.

Wrestling Power & Endurance Clinic – This isn’t your basic lifting program. Ohio State’s wrestling team uses revolutionary strength and conditioning techniques designed specifically to make stronger, faster, more-coordinated wrestlers on the mat…not just the weight room! Wrestlers must exert force and power while holding good wrestling position and staying balanced and without getting fatigued for seven minutes. Traditional weight lifting doesn’t focus on these aspects. Our program prepares wrestlers for wrestling – not power lifting or bodybuilding. By training with us, athletes learn how to implement these practices in their own training. Not only does this program produce better wrestlers, it also greatly reduces the risk of injury.

There will be a limit on the number of wrestlers participating so registe r early. We look forward to working with all those involved.
Go Bucks,
Tom Ryan

The Wrestling Clinic takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm – 8:30 pm ( 10 total sessions). Wrestlers will receive instruction (on a rotating basis) from Head Coach Tom Ryan, Associate Head Coach Lou Rosselli, Assistant Coaches Joe Heskett or J Jaggers, as well as former student-athletes, including Mike Pucillo and Reece Humphrey.

The Wrestling Power & Endurance Clinic takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm – 7pm and Sunday afternoons from 1pm – 2 pm (15 total sessions). Wrestlers will receive instruction from Alex Picazo, Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Ohio State Wrestling Team.

Clinics will be held at the Steelwood Athletic Training Center, which is home to the Ohio State wrestling team. A state of- the-art center, the spacious wrestling room accommodates 6,500-square feet of wrestling mat area, which provides ample space for an entire team to train together, while also affording the necessary area to run sprints and conduct other agility exercises.
