Important Information for Registered Campers

After two consecutive NCAA runner-up finishes, six NCAA fi nalists and 3 NCAA Champions, the Buckeye Staff will be conducting evening wrestling clinics. The Clinics will run for 6 weeks three times during the academic year (Fall, Late Winter and Spring).

We will meet in the Ohio State wrestling room two times per week and will focus on technique, strength,conditioning, mental preparation, leadership skills and nutrition. Every session will be run by a member of the Ohio State Coaching staff and assisted by several current team members. Our mission is to impact the Columbus area as well as the lives of those who choose to train in the program.

There will be a limit on the number of students participating so register early. We look forward to working with all those involved.

Wrestling Clinics will be held in three 6 week sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Wrestlers will receive instruction from Head Coach Tom Ryan, Associate Head Coach Lou Rosselli, Assistant Coach Joe Heskett or Assistant Coach J Jaggers as well as current student-athletes. Each session will have a maximum of 70 wrestlers.

Head coach Tom Ryan, who earned his 150th career win vs. Illinois Feb. 15, led the Buckeyes to seven wins in the Big Ten. The 2008-09 Buckeyes are the first squad to compile seven conference wins since 1991-92. Ryan later was named NCAA and Rev Wrestling Head Coach of the Year, while Lou Rosselli garnered NWCA Assistant Coach of the Year honors. In one of the tightest team races in recent NCAA wrestling history, Ohio State earned its secondconsecutive runner-up finish. In all, the Scarlet and Gray crowned four All-Americans. In addition to Jaggers, Mike Pucillo and Reece Humphrey were runners-up at 184 and 133 pounds, respectively. Lance Palmer finished fourth at 149 pounds for his third-career All-America laurel.

Clinics will be held at the Steelwood Athletic Training Center, which is home to The Ohio State wrestling team. A state-of-theart center, “Steelwood” also is the home of OSU fencing and gymnastics. The spacious wrestling room accommodates 6,500-square feet of wrestling mat area, which provides ample space for an entire team to train together, while also affording the necessary area to run sprints and conduct other agility exercises.

Wrestling Clinics are open to any and all wrestlers that are age 7 – 12th grade (must meet eligibility requirements by the first day of the respective session). Each session will have a maximum of 70 wrestlers.

A parent consent form is REQUIRED for all participants. Please visit to obtain the form. Please complete, sign and send the form with your child to check-in – do not send the form to us prior to the date of the event. Wrestlers will not be permitted to participate without this form.

A full refund less a $50 administrative fee per session will be issued for any cancellation received prior to the start of the clinic session. Any cancellations received after the start of the clinic session will generally not be eligible for a refund. Cancellation notice and refund request must be submitted on the Refund Request Form available at The registration fee cannot be transferred to any other camper or to any other Ohio State sports camp or clinic. Request for Refunds received after the fi rst day of a clinic will be processed after the clinic session has ended. All documentation required for a refund to be approved and processed must be submitted within one month of the end of the clinic session.
