COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Department of Athletics and the Jerome Schottenstein Center are hosting the second annual Schott-A-Thon to benefit Adventures for Wish Kids. The fundraiser will be held from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. April 29 in the practice gym at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.

Participants of the Schott-A-Thon get pledges for the number of foul-shots made in 10 minutes of shooting. There are two ways to get involved: schedule a set time by calling 614-797-9500 or faxing your registration form to 614-797-9600 by April 22, 2005; walk-in with your pledge sheet and shoot throughout the day.

Adventures for Wish Kids is a local not-for-profit organization which provides fun-filled activities for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The adventures take children to places like Paramount’s Kings Island, The Columbus Zoo, Columbus Crew games, Columbus Blue Jackets games, an Ohio State Father/Son Basketball Clinic, a Mother/Daughter Pampering at Charles Penzone’s Grand Salons and much more.

Throughout the day there will be guest appearances by local celebrities, Brutus, Ohio State cheerleaders and former Ohio State student-athletes.

Prize and age categories include most individual baskets made, most individual dollars collected, most team baskets made and most team dollars collected.
