COLUMBUS, Ohio — 15 members of the women’s soccer team were named Academic All-Big Ten this fall. The group is part of 140 Buckeyes to earn the distinction, the most for OSU in a fall season, surpassing last year’s total of 120.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be on a varsity team, as verified by being on the official squad list as of Nov. 1 for fall sports, have been enrolled full-time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The Buckeye’s three seniors of Marissa Birzon, Bailey Kolinski and Izzy Rodriguez all claimed the award for the fourth time. Kayla Fischer, Maddy Lowe and Emaly Vatne received the distinction for the third time, juniors Brittany Duncan, Maciah Lipsey, Ariella Pitty, Emma Sears are two-time honorees and sophomores Christin Baumbick, Chloe Delyser, Nina LeFlore, Peyton McNamara and Haley Roberts all earned their first honor.
