COLUMBUS, Ohio – A total of 21 student-athletes from the Ohio State University men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs have been named Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholars for having an overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.70 for the 2020-21 academic year.
The impressive total for the swimming and diving programs includes 13 individuals from the women’s teams and an additional eight from the men’s teams. Seven student-athletes recorded perfect, 4.00 grade point averages this past year: Alex House (zoology), Laura Banks (biology), Joey Canova (data analytics), Jay Johnson (philosophy, politics, and economics), Evan McFadden (aerospace engineering), Evan Stapp (sport industry) and Lyle Yost (Spanish).
