11 members of the Ohio State men’s golf team have been named Ohio State Scholar-Athletes for 2020-21.
JonErik Alford and Kevin Stone each earned the award for the fourth time while junior finance major Grant Engle was honored for the third time. Freshman Drew Mulcahy had a perfect 4.0 GPA for the entire year.
The group was part of 799 Ohio State student-athletes recognized with the honor Monday. To receive the OSU Scholar Athlete distinction, student-athletes must carry a 3.0 or better grade-point average.
The Buckeyes opened the year by finishing three consecutive events under par which marked the first time that had happened since the 2003-04 season. OSU finished fifth at the Big Ten Championship and then made their 50th postseason appearance at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional.
