When the season abruptly ended at the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic in mid-March, most everyone was able to return to their homes and complete the rest of the semester online. But for a number of international students, that wasn’t the case. Dorka Juhasz and Rebeka Mikulasikova both were forced to remain in the States and wait for the travel situation to improve.
Mikulasikova headed to Colorado where she spent the summer with extended family who she had met for the first time. Juhasz stayed local and had a place on campus. Finally, in mid-July, the two were able to return to their home countries. Mikulasikova made it to Slovakia and Juhasz made it home to Hungary.
Juhasz took to Instagram to document her long trip home, taking flights to Atlanta, Budapest and then finally Hungary. She answered a number of questions along the way and was greeted at home by her parents. Take a look at her journey.
