Yoder Makes U.S. National Team and Earns World Championship Camp Invitation After Stellar Weekend

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Multiple generations of Buckeyes spent the weekend competing at the 2018 U.S. Gymnastics Championships at T.D. Garden in Boston.

Alec Yoder finished fifth in the all-around with a score of 166.800, earning a spot on the 2018 U.S. Men’s Senior National Team. Yoder tallied a score of 29.850 on the pommel horse to win the event for the weekend. He will also participate in the World Team Selection Camp in Colorado Springs from September 19-23 for a chance to make the World Championship team.

Sean Melton finished in 11th place with a score of 162.150 Melton was tabbed as an alternate for the United States Pan American team, set to compete in Lima, Peru on September 14-16.

Seth Delbridge notched a score of 156.500 over the two days of competition, good for 23rd place, while fellow Buckeye alum Will Jeffries competed in the senior division. Incoming freshman Angel Leon had a strong showing in the junior division over the weekend.
