COLUMBUS, Ohio Three members of the Ohio State women’s track and field team competed Friday afternoon in Fayetteville, Ark. at the Tyson Invitational on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
The 400m dash featured two Buckeyes, sophomore Shaniqua McGinnis and junior Ashley Caldwell. McGinnis took the No. 22 spot in a time of 56.42, while teammate Caldwell followed close behind in the No. 25 position with a season best run of 56.60. Senior Ayrizanna Favours, who was scheduled to take part in the 400m, did not compete.
Junior Emily Thompson was the other OSU contender in action Friday, as she finished fourteenth in the 800m at 2:13.30.
McGinnis and Caldwell will be back in action tomorrow afternoon in the 200m dash, along with Favours and sophomore Letecia Wright. Sophomore Sarah Foster will take to the track in the 5000m championship and freshman Christina Manning will look to leap past the competition in the long jump. The 4×400 relay is also scheduled to compete. Foster will be first out of the gate at 12:45 a.m. EST.
