COLUMBUS, Ohio The national runner-up Ohio State wrestling team finished fifth in the nation in average home attendance with 2,681 fans attending the Buckeyes’ six home duals during the 2007-08 season. For the year, Ohio State had a total St. John Arena attendance of 13,406.

In front of a home wrestling record-crowd of 5,341 Feb. 10, the Buckeyes beat the Wolverines, 16-15. The previous best of 4,378 for the Scarlet and Gray was set four weeks before vs. Iowa Jan. 18.

With six home contests, the Buckeyes bettered the average home attendance of two programs that had seven home duals. Oklahoma State finished sixth in the standings with an average of 2,583, while Lehigh was seventh (1,899).

Iowa finished atop of the rankings with an average of 7,541. Iowa State (4,311) and Minnesota (3,125) rounded out the Top 3 and Penn State was fourth with an average of 3,035.
