COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 45 Ohio State women’s tennis team opened its six-match homestand in grand fashion Saturday afternoon, recording a 4-3 win over Penn State at the Stickney Tennis Center. The Buckeyes move to 3-1 in Big Ten play and 9-6 overall with the victory. The Lady Lions fall to 0-4 in the Big Ten and 6-4 overall.

Penn State earned the doubles point after winning two of three matches. Kristy Dascoli (Jr., Bradenton, Fla.) and Monica Rincon (So., Lapeer, Mich.) recorded Ohio State’s only doubles win with an 8-2 victory at No. 1 over Pilar Montgomery and Alison Barnett.

The Buckeyes controlled the singles matches, winning four of six singles matches to clinch the triumph. Dascoli, Rincon, Michelle Matko (So., Aurora, Ill.) and Sadhaf Pervez (Fr., Warren, N.J.) each recorded singles wins for Ohio State.

The Buckeyes continue their homestand Tuesday afternoon, battling Miami (O.) at 2:30 p.m. at the Stickney Tennis Center.
