COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s tennis team defeated Boston College Saturday night at a neutral site in New Haven, Conn. The No. 38 Buckeyes swept the doubles matches and picked up three singles wins to improve to 6-1 (3-0 Big Ten) on the season as Boston College drops to 4-2 (2-1 Big East).

The Buckeyes were awarded the doubles point for the seventh-consecutive time and swept all three matches for the third time this season. At No. 1 for the Buckeyes, Sadhaf Pervez (Sr., Warren, N.J.) and Lindsay Williams (Jr., Beverly Hills, Mich.) defeated Nida Waseem and Emily Hellberg, 8-4. The Buckeye tandem of juniors Erica Fisk (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Jackie Leskovar (Cambridge, Ontario) remained undefeated in dual play (7-0) by outlasting Szilvia Szegedi and Allison Ashley, 9-8. Lindsey Adams (So., Mercer Island, Wash.) and Meaghan Colville (Jr., Toronto, Ontario) defeated the Eagle duo of Morgan Landes and Amy Molden, 8-2, to complete the sweep.

In singles action, No. 75 Pervez advanced to 7-0 at the No. 1 spot for Ohio State as she defeated Sezegedi, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 3, Leskovar recorded a three-set victory over Ashley, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, to bring the Buckeyes within one point of a victory. Ohio State suffered losses at No. 2, No. 4 and No.5 to tie the match 3-3. Sophomore Lindsay Bryan (New Orleans, La.) stepped up at No. 6 and posted a straight-set victory over Jessica Engel, 6-4, 7-6, to clinch the victory for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State will continue on the road traveling to Lincoln, Neb., to face Nebraska March 1 and Lawrence, Kan., for a showdown against Kansas March 2.
