Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores Saturday afternoon, 12-11. Vanderbilt falls to 5-9, while the Buckeyes improve their record to 9-5.

Vanderbilt took an early 2-0 lead, but Ohio State answered by scoring the next two goals. The Commodores and the Buckeyes battled back and forth the entire half with Vanderbilt taking a 6-5 lead into halftime. However, the Buckeyes took control in the second half outscoring the Commodores 7-5.

Megan Mirick (Fr., Burke, Va.) added to her season goal total by scoring four goals to lead the Buckeyes. Celeste Cianfrani (So., Telford, Pa.) also contributed to the offense by scoring three goals.

Amanda Rice scored four goals led Vanderbilt.

Ohio State will play again tomorrow against the Denver Pioneers.
