COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s lacrosse student-athlete, Regina Oliver (Sr., Pottstown, Pa.) has been named to the Spring 2005 preseason watchlist of the Tewaaraton Award Foundation. The award, considered the Heisman Award of lacrosse, will be voted upon by coaches and narrowed as the season progresses, ultimately reaching a final list of five women and five men who will constitute the award’s finalist.

Oliver, a midfielder for the Buckeyes, is a two-time Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association/U.S. Lacrosse All-American receiving second team honors in 2003 and a third team selection in 2004. She is a three-time American Lacrosse Conference first team selection and was named the 2002 ALC Rookie of the Year and the 2003 ALC Player of the Year. Oliver is the Ohio State career leader in caused turnovers with 150 and in ground balls with 166. She ranks fourth in career goals (96), seventh in assists (36), sixth in points (132) and second in draw controls (94).

Ohio State opens the 2005 season next week when they host Duquesne at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26.
