COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State has moved to 13th in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Poll that was released Monday. The Buckeyes had been ranked 19th last week. OSU received 83 points in the poll this week after a 12-11 upset win over 7th-ranked Maryland last Saturday. OSU”s Megan Mirick (Sr., Burke, Va.) scored five goals and added an assist in the Maryland game. Shannon Wilson (Jr., Sherkston, Ontario) scored the winning goal with 1:37 left in the game to seal the win. For her efforts, Wilson was named the AllLacrosseAmerican.com Women’s Collegiate Player of the Week. The Buckeye win stopped a string of 79-straight wins by Maryland (6-4) over non-conference competition.

Ohio State, 7-1 overall and 1-0 in the American Lacrosse Conference, returns to league play this weekend when the Buckeyes travel to 17th-ranked Johns Hopkins (6-4, 3-1) for an 11 a.m., Saturday, April 6 game. OSU returns home for a 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 9 contest with 11th-ranked Notre Dame (6-1)
