COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State (3-12 overall, 1-4 American Lacrosse Conference) women’s lacrosse team fell to No 2 Northwestern (14-1, 4-0), 16-4, Friday night at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. OSU’s Kristen Hannon (So., Sykesville, Md.) scored a team-high two goals for the Buckeyes while Hilary Bowen had a team-high three goals for the Wildcats.

Northwestern scored the first 13 goals of the game, opening with goals by Bowen at 0:45 and Lindsey Munday at 3:57. Laura Glassanos scored, assisted by Kristen Kjellman at 5:05 and a Hannah Nielsen goal at 6:16 made it 4-0. Meredith Frank scored at 8:31, assisted by Monday. Nielsen, assisted by Munday, scored at 17:48. At 19:27 Glassanos scored followed by a Hilary Bowen goal at 19:47 making it 8-0. Munday assisted on a Sarah Albrecht goal at 20:41. Aly Josephs scored at 26:24, assisted by Hilary Bowen. Albrecht scored at 27:22, assisted by Kjellman to end the half with Northwestern leading 11-0.

Bowen opened the second half with a goal at 30:41. Frank’s goal at 38:05, assisted by Glassanos gave Northwestern a 13-0 lead. Hannon broke the scoring run at 45:26. NU’s Lynda McCandlish made it 14-1 at 47:30 on a Bowen assist. Jessica Patane (So., Farmingdale, N.Y.), with an assist by KC Carter (Sr., Birchrunville, Pa.) at 50:39 made it 14-2. Munday, with an assist by Kjellman at 51:40 made it 15-2. Carter made it 15-3 with a goal at 56:32. Jenny Bush, at 57:40, scored Northwestern’s 16th goal with a Munday assist. OSU’s Hannon closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal at 58:42 to make the final score, 16-4, Wildcats.

In goal for Ohio State, Kristen Gilwee (Fr., Hunt Valley, Md.) took the loss while making 15 saves. NU’s Morgan Lathrop took the win for the Wildcats, playing 50 minutes. She had four saves and gave up one goal. Abby Bandser finished the game making one save and giving up three goals. Ohio State closes out the season Sunday when they host Rutgers (7-6) at 1 p.m. at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
