COLUMBUS, Ohio – Hockey Canada announced the roster of 22 players, including Ohio State women’s ice hockey sophomore Tessa Bonhomme, named to Canada’s National Women’s Under-22 Team Sunday. The team will face the U.S. National Under-22 Team in a three-game series Aug. 25, 26 and 28 in Lake Placid, N.Y., and Burlington, Vt.

The roster announcement came after a seven-day development camp attended by 44 of the top under-22 players in Canada. The team is composed of 14 returning players from the 2002-03 squad and eight rookies, including Bonhomme.

Bonhomme was the first Buckeye to be named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team as she led OSU’s freshman class and tied for third on the team with 20 points (5-15) last season. The Sudbury, Ontario, native finished her freshman campaign tied for 16th in the nation among defensemen and tied for 24th among freshmen, averaging .59 points per game.

Bonhomme is one of two Buckeyes to be selected to the Canadian Under-22 Team. Buckeye senior Jeni Creary was a member of the 2003 Canada Under-22 Team and competed in the three-game series vs. the U.S. last year.
