Senior forward Olivia Antognoli is the definition of hard work. A walk-on from Granite City, Ill., her determination to succeed and led to regular ice time as well as several honors in the classroom. She is a two-time WCHA All-Academic Team selection and OSU Scholar-Athlete and earned the team’s Buckeye Power Club award as a sophomore for her hard work in the weight room and off-ice training.

I am … LEGEND!

I started playing hockey because … some yard sale skates sparked my interest.

I chose to come to Ohio State because … the academics, athletics, traditions and the most unbelievable atmosphere ever.

The best thing about playing college athletics is … all of the great opportunities we are given and the chance to play the sport you love.

You would never guess that I … secretly want to be a ginger…Shannon is the only person I have told.

Three words to describe me are … sparkling, spirited and surprising

Fans may not know this about the team …Over 57% of our team acts like felines… Barb and Feste can actually communicate with cats.

My favorite thing about the sport of hockey is … the people that play it. It takes a special kind of person to play the sport, and I have met some pretty amazing friends over the last 15 years playing the game.

My biggest pet peeve is … bad drivers…. I have some pretty terrible road rage.

In 20 years, I would like to be … livin’ the American Dream, some kids, hot husband and a nice house…and maybe a maid.

I can’t imagine living without … food… excluding the obvious reasons of survival, I love to eat everything from fresh seafood to fresh tacos from Jack in the Box!

What are your pre-game rituals/routines? Like Mac, I try to pretend I am somewhat OCD, however besides putting my equipment on the same way, listening to a few favorite pump up songs and tapping Morgan on the shoulder before we exit the locker room, I am pretty spontaneous.

What’s in your refrigerator? I consider myself an amateur chef, so I have quite an array of ingredients that will tantalize the taste buds.

What are your plans for next year? This summer I am planning on taking an internship in Italy at a nightclub, which will conclude my long and lustrous career at The Ohio State. Then I am planning on crashing on my brother’s futon in Chicago until I can get a job at a hotel or resort somewhere outside of the Midwest climate … He just doesn’t know it yet.

Tell us about your family … My older brother David, who I am very proud of, is a video game designer (yes, he gets paid to make video games), my dad, David, is a lawyer, and my mom, Debbie, is a message therapist. My parents have been the two greatest influences on my life and have supported me through everything. I also have the two best cats ever, Buttercup and Toast.

Tell us about your hometown … Well, where to begin— Ahh, the giant steel mill. The Mill is sort of the hub of Granite City where just about everyone’s parents work. My town is not too small and not too big, I lived within two blocks of most of my friends, and we are one of the few lucky cities in Illinois to feature, not one, but two Jack in the Boxes! It is hard to explain the wonders of Granite City without actually visiting, Tonnessen once visited and hasn’t been the same since.

Anything you want to add … GO BUCKS!
