COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s hockey team, along with the other Western Collegiate Hockey Association men’s and women’s teams, will raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina during the game on Saturday as part of the WCHA Cares, Katrina Relief Drive. The fundraising efforts will be held at the various WCHA venues hosting games, including the 4:07 p.m. game at the OSU Ice Rink.

The fundraiser in Columbus includes a raffle drawing to win game-worn jerseys from Ohio State and Minnesota State players. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the raffle through the second intermission with prizes being awarded in the third period. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

“On behalf of our member institutions, coaching staffs and student-athletes, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association is proud to play a small part in providing relief for the victims of the tragic Hurricane Katrina,” Bruce McLeod, conference commissioner, said. “We’ve always prided ourselves on being a family in the WCHA and this is one more way the Association membership can come together to help in a worthwhile cause.”
