COLUMBUS, Ohio – In their first road game of the season, the Buckeyes (0-4-1 overall, 0-2-1 WCHA) dropped a 3-2 overtime heartbreaker to Western Collegiate Hockey Association rival Saint Cloud State (1-2 overall, 1-2 WCHA) at Saint Cloud, Minn.%^$

The Huskies jumped on the board first at 5:50 in the second period with a power play goal from forward Abby Cooper with assists from Jennifer Swanson and Amanda Mathison. Ohio State evened the score at one halfway through the third when defenseman Emily Hudak (Fr., Marblehead, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season with an unassisted shot to the lower right corner of the net. %^$

The Buckeyes went up, 2-1, at 13:23 in the third period when Melissa Pirie (Fr., Islington, Ont.) netted an unassisted shot for her first goal of the season. SCSU even the score at two with under four minutes remaining in regulation time to send the game into a five-minute sudden death overtime. SCSU converted at 2:46 in overtime play when Jennifer Swanson scored the game-winning goal on the only Huskie shot in the overtime period.%^$

The Buckeyes conclude their two-game series with SCSU tomorrow (Oct. 23) at the National Hockey Center at St. Cloud, Minn. Face-off is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. EST.%^$
