Buckeyes make third-consecutive regional appearance
COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State women’s gymnastics team has been selected to compete in the NCAA Central Region Championships at 7 p.m. ET April 12 at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La., the NCAA announced Monday. The Buckeyes will enter their third-consecutive year in the regional championships seeded sixth in the regional.
Ohio State holds a regional qualifying average of 194.405, which ranks seventh in the region and No. 33 in the nation.
Six teams, five all-around competitors who are not on a qualifying team and one individual event specialist per event were named to each of the six regional championships. The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) for each region will receive an automatic bid to the national championship in Athens, Georgia, April 24-26, hosted by the University of Georgia. Also, the event winner at the regional championships will advance (in that event only) if they are not part of a qualifying team or the all-around qualifiers.
