COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s golf team, paced by a tournament-best round of 302 on Sunday, won the Big Ten Championship at the par-72 Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind. OSU finished the tournament with a score of 1,239, 12 strokes ahead of defending champion Indiana. The championship is Ohio State’s 10th Big Ten crown, with the last coming in 1997.%^$

Amber Amstutz (Jr., Leo, Ind.) led the Buckeyes with a second-place finish, her second consecutive runner-up finish. Amstutz fired a 16-over-par 304 over the four rounds. Natalie Mosher (Sr., New Philadelphia, Ohio) took third place with a score of 307. Summerset Lovett (Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii) shot a tournament-best 71 (-1) Sunday, which propelled her into eighth place with a 314. Lisa Strom (Jr., North Wales, Pa.) shot a 315 and finished in ninth place overall.%^$

Indiana’s Erin Carney took the tournament’s individual title, firing a 301 (+13) en route to her second straight Big Ten individual title. %^$

The Buckeyes, ranked 15th in the country, return to action Thursday at the NCAA East Regional in Blythewood, S.C. OSU enters the tournament as the Midwest District’s No. 1 seed.%^$
