COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s golf team shot a 313 Saturday in the second round of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate, held at the par-72 Gettysvue Polo, Golf and Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn. The Buckeyes climbed two spots after the first round and now sit in 14th place overall with a 36-hole total of 638.

Ashley Lowery (So., West Lafayette, Ind.) fired the Buckeyes’ low round Saturday with a five-over par 77. Lisa Strom (Sr., North Wales, Pa.) and Mollie Fankhauser (Fr., Dublin, Ohio) each shot a 78 in the second round for Ohio State.

South Carolina, after firing a 300 Saturday, moved into a tie with Georgia for first place after two rounds of play. Wake Forest, with the low round of the day Saturday, a 298, stands just four strokes back of the leaders. The competition concludes Sunday morning with the final 18 holes.
