%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio — Led by Natalie Aber’s (Jr., Akron, Ohio/Springfield) 69, the Ohio State women’s golf team shot a 298 Friday to keep a hold on its fifth-place standing at the NCAA West Regional, hosted by Oregon State at the par-72 Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore. The top eight teams and two individuals from the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships May 22-25.%^$

%^$Arizona (579) maintained its 15-stroke lead over second-place Stanford, as both squads fired a 292 Friday, the low team score of the day. Arizona State and Michigan State are tied for third place at 602, while Ohio State and UCLA are tied at 604 through two rounds. Southern California (606) and Tennessee (608) hold the final two qualifying positions, but Washington (610) and Oregon (612) are hot on their heels.%^$

%^$Big Ten Player of the Year Mollie Fankhauser (So., Dublin, Ohio/Cols. School for Girls) continued her solid play with a 73 Friday. She is tied for fourth place overall with a 143. Aber shot into the Top 15 with her 69 – her second sub-70 round of the season. She has a 147 for the tournament, which shatters her career two-round record by six strokes. Aber is tied for 11th place overall.%^$

%^$Allison Hanna (Fr., Portland, Ore./David Douglas) rebounded from a first-round 81 to fire a 74 in the second round. She is tied for 40th place with a 155 (+11). For the second-consecutive day, Ashley Lowery (Jr., West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) posted an 82. She is tied for 84th place. Jennifer Borowiec (Fr., South Lyon, Mich./Mercy) shot an 83 Friday and is tied for 69th place (160).%^$

%^$The tournament concludes Saturday. The Buckeyes tee off at 7:30 a.m. PT. They are paired with Michigan State and UCLA.%^$
