COLUMBUS, Ohio – Led by freshman Mollie Fankhauser’s (Dublin, Ohio) career-low round of 71 (-2), the Ohio State women’s golf team shot a 314 in the second round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, hosted by Georgia at the par-73 University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga. With a two-round total of 625 (+41), the Buckeyes share 14th place with Indiana.

Fankhauser was on fire in the second round, notching the second under-par round of her career. With a 36-hole score of 148 (+2), she stands in a tie for 10th place with one round to go. Amber Amstutz (Sr., Leo, Ind.), shot a 79 and has a 36-hole total of 154 (+8), leaving her in a tie for 35th place. Jamie Rishel (So., Westerville, Ohio) stroked a 79 in the second round and has compiled a 163 through two rounds.

Second-ranked Duke, led by Maria-Garcia Estrada’s second-round 68, holds a comfortable 18-stroke lead after shooting a 282 (-10). LSU maintains second place with a seven-over 591.

The tournament is one of the nation’s premier golf events, featuring 15 teams ranked in the MasterCard top 50. The tournament concludes on Sunday with the final 18 holes.
