Freshman In Hong Lim and the Buckeyes compete this weekend at the Big Ten championships in University Park, Pa. Below is a blog by Lim with updates from the event.
Thursday: Practice Round
Hello from Penn State! We are finally at the Big Ten championships. This year, it is on Penn State Blue Course where we played in fall season in another tournament.
We got here yesterday (Wednesday) by bus. The bus trip with our driver Matt was great fun but it was long. We watched two DVDs and we were only little over half way!
We teed off at 8:30 a.m. which is around our actual tee time for the first round Friday. We had practice rounds in two groups – Haley, Gemma and Jessie were in one and Carling, Emma and me were in another. The course was in great shape and we cannot wait until we start our first round. The weather was really nice today. In fact, it was so bright that everyone got extra tan lines (not so exciting).
After the practice round, we practiced our short game for awhile and we got back to our room to get ready for the banquet. The banquet was at Beaver Stadium where we got to meet Joe Paterno and our seniors Carling and Haley were recognized. The food was great and we had so much fun. Now it is time for us to bring the A+ game.
Friday: Rounds One and Two
It has been a long day for us out there today. Our day started at 7 a.m. with a nice breakfast. We were at course by 7:30 a.m. to start warming up and played 36 holes with Indiana in a group of two.
The course was magnificent and the weather was great. We started a little slow but played well in the afternoon. We are in third place right now behind Purdue and Michigan State.
We will be only playing 18 holes tomorrow with Michigan State and Purdue. It will be great to play with both of the teams. We are only half way through the tournament and there are a lot more golf to play.

Saturday: Round Three
It was another nice day at Penn State. We were lucky enough that a storm held off until we finished our rounds. It is pouring down right now.
Our day started at 8 a.m. and had breakfast at the hotel. Our first group teed off at 9:45 a.m. and had a strong start today as a team. We were right behind Michigan State for a moment. We finished pretty strong too, especially the last hole where we were 3-under as a team.
We finished our day with a putting drill where we had to make half of our six-foot putts as a team and we made it before storm siren started. We had parents out night so only our coaches, Haley, Matt (our bus driver) and I were at dinner. It was unusual not to have all the team at the dinner.
Well, we have one more round tomorrow with Michigan State and Purdue again. We hope to finish strong for the tournament.
