%^$ DURHAM, N.C.–The NCAA Women’s Golf East Regional started first-round action on Thursday at the Duke Golf Club and is tied for 14th%^$place.%^$ %^$ %^$

%^$ SEC Champion Georgia leads the tournament with a 293, followed by Duke and LSU%^$with a 297. Julia Boros of Georgia fired a 69 to lead the individual field, followed by teammate%^$Reilley Rankin, the SEC Player and Freshman of the Year, with a 70.%^$ %^$

%^$

%^$ Other SEC teams participating in the East Regional include Florida and Tennessee, which%^$are tied for eighth with a 308; Auburn, tied for 10th with a 309; Kentucky, tied with Ole Miss for%^$14th with a 312; and Alabama, in 16th place with a 313.%^$ %^$

%^$ %^$

%^$ Eight of the 19 teams and two individuals from the East Regional will advance to the%^$NCAA Championship on May 20-23 in Madison, Wis., at the University Ridge Golf Course.%^$ %^$

%^$ The East Regional will continue Friday and Saturday at 8 a.m. (EST).%^$
