%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State women’s golf team earned its school-record fifth-consecutive NCAA Championships berth Saturday after taking fifth place at the NCAA West Regional, hosted by Oregon State at the par-72 Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore. OSU shot a 906 (+42) over three rounds, qualifying for the championships with its Top-8 finish. The Buckeyes shot a 302 (+14) in the final round of competition as they maintained fifth place from start to finish. Ohio State advances to the NCAA Championships May 22-25 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.%^$

%^$Second-ranked Arizona cruised to the team title with a 4-over-par 868. The Wildcats won by 20 strokes over runner-up Stanford. Michigan State (901) and UCLA (903) finished third and fourth, respectively. Ohio State (906) Arizona State (910), Washington (914) and Southern California (916) earned the other championship berths from the West Regional.%^$

%^$Big Ten Player of the Year Mollie Fankhauser (So., Dublin, Ohio/Cols. School for Girls) continued to post low scores as she recorded her second sub-par round of the tournament, a 1-under-par 71, to finish with a career-low 214 (-2). She finished in fourth place and was one of just four players to break par on Saturday. Fankhauser has recorded Top-10 finishes in 10 of her 12 outings this season. She finished in the Top 5 in all but one of her Top-10 finishes.%^$

%^$Natalie Aber (Jr., Akron, Ohio/Springfield) also had a stellar tournament, carding the second-lowest mark of her career, a 222, as she notched an 11th-place finish. It marks her fourth Top-20 finish of the season.%^$

%^$Allison Hanna (Fr., Portland, Ore./David Douglas) shot a 79 Saturday and finished in 45th place (234). Ashley Lowery (Jr., West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) shot a 77 in the final round and finished in 68th place (241), while Jennifer Borowiec (Fr., South Lyon, Mich./Mercy) carded an 80 to conclude the tournament in 63rd place (240).%^$
