%^$%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio-Michigan, the No. 6 seed in the 2002 Big Ten Men’s Tennis Tournament, defeated No. 11-seed Indiana, 4-2, Thursday at the Stickney Tennis Center. The Wolverines advance to face No. 3 Minnesota at 2 p.m. Friday in quarterfinal action.%^$

%^$Michigan earned the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and 3 positions. Henry Beam and Matt Lockin defeated Indiana’s Milan Rakvica and Ari Widlansky, 8-5. Greg Novak and Anthony Jackson defeated Josh Strand and Jakub Praibis, 9-8 (8-6).%^$

%^$In singles, Indiana put up a fight by winning two matches, but could not hold the Wolverines. Michigan’s Greg Novak clinched the match by defeating Tom Bagnoto, 0-6, 6-3, 7-5, at the No. 5 position. UM’s Ben Cox defeated Jakub Praibis, 6-4, 6-4. Michigan’s Matt Lockin defeated Zach Held, 6-3, 6-4.%^$
